1 Corinthians 13:4-8 tells us what love is:
Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrong-doing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends...
So God is still teaching me, and I'm still learning about all this. And it's hard work sometimes.
Carla,
ReplyDeleteI came across your blog today from living life bek's way. Her blog was listed on Catholic blog directory. I am always impressed by a young person who recognizes how important it is to consider God in everything they do. I have had the opportunity to spend some time pondering those same things. I came to the same conclusion as you some time ago. It really is about relationships as you point out. Here is my fatherly advice (I have children your age and older) You can never be all things to all people, some times you will disappoint or come up short. With God's grace you can learn humility, patience, and all the characteristics that St. Paul speaks about. Spend some quiet time each day with some type of meditation or scripture reading and quietly ask God "What spiritual gift do you (God) want to give me?" What does your soul cry out for? He will answer you be ready when He does.
God Bless
